In the first verse, the singer is speaking to his partner. He is accusing her of being unfaithful. He backs up his claim with evidence that he has found cigarettes in the pocket of her clothes, which is rather strange for someone who does not smoke. The cigarettes could not have belonged to her since she does not smoke, hence it must have belonged to someone else, who could be the other lover she has. If the cigarettes’ discovery is not proven enough there is also the fact that the partner has upped the security and privacy settings of her accessories by changing the access codes to them. This is something usually associated with unfaithful people. Her antics in recent times have been markedly contrasting to her usual behavior, and these have only made him be more suspicious of her.
We are in the moment of truth in the second verse, as the singer demands to know who the lady really loves. He suggests that she loves someone new and urges her to admit once and for all. He had stayed up several nights thinking about these issues and he would want her to clear the air on the matter once and for all.
He does not believe the answer she gives him, and tells her he knows that he is lying. She was hesitant, stuttered in her speech and could not even look him in the eye as she gave her answer. This does not instill confidence in the singer and he is therefore not impressed as he still demands that he wants to know the truth.
